What Items Qualify for Tax Exemption?
Tax-Exempt School Supplies
Get ready to save on a range of school supplies priced at $50 or less, which include:
- Writing supplies: pens, pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, notebooks, and construction paper
- Project materials: tape, glue, cardboard, rulers, protractors, scissors, and staplers
- Folders and computer disks
- Lunch boxes
Tax-Free Learning Aids
Learning aids priced at $30 or less also qualify. These include:
- Didactic sheets and learning cards
- Interactive books, puzzles, and memory games
Clothing and Footwear Savings
In addition to school supplies, customers can save on clothing, footwear, and certain accessories priced at $100 or less. Eligible items include:
- All types of clothing (accessories like watches, jewelry, umbrellas, and scarves are excluded)
- Footwear (excludes skis, swimming fins, and skates)
- Bags including backpacks, tote bags, and diaper bags
Computers and Accessories
Personal computers and select computer accessories priced at $1,500 or less (for personal use) are also tax-exempt:
