THAT YOU CAN MAKE WITH YOUR SUPERKIDDO!
Hey, Super Parent!
We want you to be prepared for non-school, and that is why we will share some resources to work at home with your SuperKiddos, so they can stay busy with fun and educational activities.
Since these days the routine will change a little, you should create an attractive organizer of activities for the week. This way you ensure that nothing goes unnoticed and you organize the activities according to their interests. If you speak Spanish and need support, you can find pictograms here.
At this point you are probably wondering “what activities can I do so that my child is calm and comfortable these days at home?”
We recommend, of course, sensory stimulation activities, because they help us entertain children while spending quality time with them.
Sensory stimulation in turn will allow us to work on sensitivity, motor skills and some social skills, such as empathy, communication, language and the identification of emotions.
These days that you will be at home, take advantage of the hours to enhance the learning and development of your Superkiddo through fun games and activities.
Here some ideas:
• Shapes with plasticine: these types of games promote fine motor skills, socialization and the use of language, although some children may reject them because they are so sensory. For this reason, it is essential that children feel motivated and comfortable when playing with plasticine. Otherwise, we can opt for other activities.
• Put together puzzles: promotes concentration, hand-eye coordination, memory, visual memory and copying models, among other skills. Furthermore, if we start playing with them or let them play with other children, socialization is also worked on. We recommend that it be a puzzle adapted to their interests.
• Organize a gymkhana at home: This activity can be done at home as long as there is space and it is a safe environment for the child. Otherwise, we can carry out the same activity in an open space, such as the park. To organize a race at home, we can set up different obstacles or simple physical tests with which we can work on their gross motor skills and agility.
Remember to adapt all activities at home to their interests and characteristics. If, for example, your Superkiddo is hypersensitive to noise, avoid games with loud music or sounds.
We recommend you also read the Sensory stimulation ideas that we shared with you a couple of weeks ago.
Other activities you can do at home:
- Symbolic play: playing together in kitchens, hairdressing, houses, the farm. If our child has difficulties with this type of game, we must guide them, we can give them simple instructions, make onomatopoeias or small dialogues.
- Reading stories: It is always useful and educational to read stories to our SuperKiddos. We can do it with short stories, with simple language and relying on the drawings that the book presents, either to narrate it, increase their vocabulary or so that they understand it better.
We hope these resources are useful and that these days are fun for everyone. Stay up to date with the information on our blog , which we are constantly updating with lots of information for you!
Share this info with the parents you know so that these days are more comfortable for the whole family.
