Did you know that people with autism can display a variety of strengths and abilities that may be directly related to their diagnosis?
Some of these unique “superpowers” may be:
- Memorize and learn information quickly.
- Attention to details.
- Giftedness.
- Have an extraordinarily good memory (being able to remember facts over a long period of time).
- Exceptional honesty and reliability.
- A drive toward perfection and order.

For us, it is important that parents, educators and the broader community can recognize and celebrate the incredible strengths of children with autism. By nurturing these strengths and promoting understanding and acceptance, we can help them realize their full potential and lead full and satisfying lives.
As a society, we must continue to work to ensure that children with superpowers have access to the resources, opportunities and support they need to thrive.
Better understanding these powerful abilities, will strengthen our bonds with them and help guide our efforts to create a more inclusive world.
ASD includes a wide range of abilities. Let’s strengthen it together!
For this 2024, we have 3 New Year Resolutions for you:
- Remember that your Superkiddo’s abilities are incredible and valuable.
- Recognizing and promoting everything that makes your Superkiddo unique will strengthen its development.
- Try to share more time with your Superkiddo, reserve a couple of days a month to play or go to a place they like.
