7 Tips to have a successful Job fair participation RBTs and BCBAs can start implementing now
A successful job search requires hours of effort and energy.
So, how can you make the most of your time and enter a work environment that also allows you to continue growing professionally? Keep reading!
We share with you some tips that will help you land a dream job:
1. Plan
Make a list of objectives. Also, write down what you are doing every day to improve your job search process.
This will help you keep track of the steps you do and see what you can improve each day.
Besides, this can help you that tailor your profile to what the vacancy requires.
2. Keep your Social Networks up to date
Create and update your profile on Networking networks, for example LinkedIn.
Your profile will generate more notoriety if you stay active and constantly participate in communities.
3. Learn something new
You can get an advantage over the rest of the people applying for your dream position by taking the time to learn something new within your area.
Remember that degrees and certifications make you more attractive to potential employers. Sign up for online or in-person courses and seminars.
As we have mentioned before, the UM-NSU CARD constantly have virtual training for families and caregivers of people with autism and related disabilities. This, could undoubtedly be a plus in your job interview!
4. Learn something new
Before attending an interview, look for information about the company, find out about their values, their objectives and what they are looking for.
This way you will be able prepare your answers and bring ideas to the table that might cause a good impression of you.
5. Visit job fairs
Job fairs are an excellent opportunity to find work, to expand your network of contacts, meet potential employers and receive advice on career guidance.
Knowing your future employers will allow you to create a direct link and it will be easier to follow up.
In other words, you will have more opportunities to succeed!

Maintaining an active participation in your Job Search will give you an advantage with your future employers and you will also be able to gain visibility compared to other companies in your niche. Get the most out of it!
