This program will help your child develop the foundation necessary for a successful transition into a traditional classroom environment utilizing ABA therapy.
The School Readiness Program (SRP) is the Super Kids intensive ABA program designed using Applied Behavior Analysis principles. It prepares our preschool children, ages 3 to 8, with the foundation needed for a successful transition into a traditional classroom environment. We achieve this by increasing and improving the desired behaviors required to be school-ready.
Some main goals of this program include our clients improving their communication and social skills.
The following core skills, which incorporates ABA, teaches our clients to prepare for school by having them:
- Complete Tasks. Increase sitting compliance during academic tasks.
- Participate in group activities.
- Increase Social Communication.
- Social interaction with peers, (ex. taking turns, awareness of personal space, responding, etc)
- Respond to peer requests to play, lining up with peers, and other peer imitation.
- Follow instructions.
- Pay attention.
- Learn in a group environment with distractions.
- Transition from preferred (ex. recess) to non-preferred activities (ex. educational tasks).
- Desensitize from aversive stimulation, typical in school settings (ex. Loud spaces, birthday parties, etc.
- Increase independence and follow a schedule.
- Self help and daily living skills.
- and much more…
This program is available year-round as a therapeutic ABA preschool program.
It takes place from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
The number of hours spent in the clinic for each child will vary depending on the insurance authorization approval.
What are the prerequisites for this program?
- Be an active member of ABA therapy at Super Kids Center. In order for a new member to join the program, the member must first adjust to ABA in a 1:1 setting.
- 3 to 8 years old.
- Fully Toilet Trained.
- Eats independently.
- No longer requires a naptime.
- BCBA on each case must approve the enrollment.
You do not need a new assessment or reevaluation. We will implement your child’s existing individualized program in the classroom setting to build readiness skills and work on their specific goals.
Also, there is no extra payment necessary for SRP enrollment.
We do not have grades in the program. The SRP setup breaks down the preschool curriculum by each child’s age, skill level, and behavioral compliance.
The curriculum is a combination of structured group and individualized activities. There is no classroom teacher, instead, the case BCBA along with their RBTs will follow the chosen school curriculum and prepare the weekly assignments given in the calendar.
The following is an example of our SRP schedule:
- Circle time (Gathering time)
- 1:1 work
- Art
- Music
- Computer
- 1:1 Math/ Group Math
- 1:1 Languages/ Group Language
- 1:1 Science /Group Science
- Quiet time
- Playground/Recess time
- Lunchtime
- Snack time
Children graduate from the SRP once they meet, master, and generalize their goals. At this time, programming can advance into higher-level curriculum in the school setting.
Does my child need to be officially registered to be homeschooled in the state of Florida to be enrolled in the SRP program?
Only if your child is 5-years-old before September 1st (Kindergarten age), does the state mandate them to be enrolled in a formal education program.
Completing the homeschooling process is very simple. After enrolling in homeschool and choosing the curriculum, we provide support at the center along with ABA therapy in the School Readiness Program.
P.S.: You can find more information about homeschooling here
